Define the supported environment
List locations, users, computers, servers, network devices and key applications. State what is included and what remains with another provider. A vague promise of technical support makes it difficult to judge responsibilities when an incident affects several systems.
Agree the working process
Specify support hours, remote and on-site arrangements, prioritisation and escalation. Distinguish response from resolution. Identify whether hardware, licences, projects and out-of-hours work are separately charged. Avoid assuming an unlimited service from a short headline.
Include evidence and handover
Agree work records, configuration documentation and backup responsibilities. Clarify who checks restores, holds administrative access and manages vendor renewals. A provider change should include a defined handover rather than leaving the company dependent on undocumented knowledge.
Sources and further reading
Options vary by product version, subscription and organisation policy. Refer to the vendor documentation before making changes.
