Find what uses the space

Use Windows storage information to identify large categories and review personal downloads and temporary files. Check what each cleanup option removes before confirming. Back up important local files and identify business application data before deleting anything substantial.

Avoid manual system cleanup

Do not randomly remove Windows, Program Files or application database folders. Uninstall unused applications through supported tools and move personal files deliberately. Cloud synchronization can propagate deletions, so confirm where the authoritative copy is stored.

Plan for recurring growth

If space fills again quickly, investigate logs, updates, mail archives and application growth. A larger drive may help only after compatibility and migration planning. Deleting data repeatedly without understanding its source can hide an ongoing problem.

Sources and further reading

Options vary by product version, subscription and organisation policy. Refer to the vendor documentation before making changes.
