Describe the slowdown
Note when the problem started and whether it affects startup, one application or everything. Check storage space and resource use during the slowdown. A network application can feel slow because of a server or connection issue even when the local computer is healthy.
Make controlled changes
Review unnecessary startup applications and available updates. Use the installed security software to check for threats. Avoid registry cleaners and unfamiliar driver tools. Back up important data before hardware work or major changes, and do not disable company security controls to gain speed.
When to ask for help
Unexpected shutdowns, disk warnings or persistent overheating need diagnosis. RAM or SSD upgrades should follow evidence of a bottleneck and compatibility checks. Reinstalling Windows repeatedly will not fix failing hardware.

Options vary by product version, subscription and organisation policy. Refer to the vendor documentation before making changes.
